VNLA Luna Avanti Indoor Roller Skates

I am very happy with the purchase. I was initially concerned about the stiffness of the boot but after several hours skating them, they are breaking in nicely and very comfortable. When I ordered them, I searched on line to see what cushion combiniation Sure Grip used on the Avanti plate bdcause, as a light man, I knew I would need softer cushions than what would be on the plate. They use a barrel cushion on the top and a cone bushing on the bottom so I ordered the sure grip yellow super cushions . when the skates arrived, VNLA used barrel cushions on both the top and bottom locations which meant that the bottom cushion cup was too big for the cone cushion. I ordered the appropriate cup for the cone cushions. in the mean time, I put my outside wheels on the skates and skated on the outdoor rink near my house to start breaking in the boots. When the cups arrived, I removed the original cushions and trucks from the plate and discovered that the barrel cup on the bottom had rubbed the finish off the truck where the cup contacted the truck which is why Sure Grip uses a cone cushion on the bottom with the smaller diameter cup, It is not an issue that should keep someone from buying these skates just something to be aware of.

Boots are nice and will definitely accommodate to a wide foot. THEY RUN A SIZE BIG so order one size down. The Avanti plate is solid. The velvet wheels were a disappointment. It's seems they are not perfectly cut. So each wheel feels slightly different and the wobble. Not sure if bearing sits correctly in the wheel. Wheels definitely a bust for me. But the boots and plates are a solid choice for any skater. Roller skate nation is a great shop fast shipping, great customer service and selection.

I was looking for my first pair of roller skates and wanted something I’d be happy with as a beginner and intermediate skater. I wear 13 2e shoes and was advised to go up to size 14 to also accommodate my inserts for flat feet. Just finished my first skating session and could not be more pleased with both the fit and performance of the skates. Resides the wide feet, I have a bone spur on the outside of my left foot. The soft suede boots felt great after 90 minutes of continuous skating and I expect them to mold even better in the next few months. I was afraid the Sure Grip velvet wheels might be too slippery for me, but they seem to have just the right amount of grip and slide. I weigh 230 lbs, so replaced the stock truck cushions with Sure Grip red barrels on top and purple conical below. Extremely happy with my purchase!!

I purchased the mag plate option and enjoyed the fit, comfort, and performance of the skates right out of the box. I have issues with many sport shoes being too narrow, and these VNLA boots were a perfect fit and required no breaking in. The VNLA bearings it comes with take a while to break in- its been over a week and there are one or two that are still a little stuck. The Avanti plate is lighter, sits higher, is noticeably shorter in the wheel base than my previous (Moxi Beach Bunny) skates. It's still an adjustment period but I'm enjoying my time on these skates so far!

I could not be more thrilled with my purchase. I received these within a few days of my order. The Vanilla packaging is a great unboxing experience; nice handle, all black with luminescent lettering. Everything about these scream quality. The boot is nicely padded. I have size 13 wide feet, and I'm able to wear these no problem. I love the contrast of the white magnesium plate against the black boot. I don't understand how these wheels can be so good. They're sticky and slippery at all the right times. Make sure you check your wheel nuts before you use them. Some of mine were overtightened.
