Designed for outdoor durability, Kryptonics Route 70 roller skate wheels are simply the best outdoor wheels on the market today! The 70mm roller skate wheels are made from high-quality super high rebound urethane and dual rounded edges for superior smoothness & roll.
Available in a pack of 4 or a pack of 8. Please note, 8 wheels are needed for a pair of roller skates.
The more you know, the further you roll!
Did you know that taller wheels are recommended when skating outdoors? Think about a car – when you are closer to the ground, you feel more bumps, but not so much when you are higher up. Similarly, a taller skate wheel will roll over bigger obstacles with ease, while a smaller wheel will stop more easily when it hits something. Not only do the taller wheels roll better, but they provide a longer/faster roll as a result.
When skating outdoors with larger wheels, it’s not uncommon for the wheel to make contact with the bottom of the skate boot. Minor rubbing on the edge of the sole can happen, but normally will not cause a problem. With that being said, contact with mounting hardware could cause a problem. If a wheel makes contact with the mounting bolt, the bolt will dig into the soft urethane and make a groove on the outside of the wheel. However, there can be an issue if the bolt digs too deeply into a wheel. If this happens, the wheel will suddenly stop, and the unsuspecting skater will fly forward.
There is an easy fix for this. Typically the skater can tighten the trucks, causing the trucks not to turn as much. The recommended solution is to install firm cushions on the skate. Sure-Grip offers a premium urethane cushion, available in a harder durometer. By going to a firmer cushion, you will normally resolve any clearance issues.

Sure grip 70mm rollerskate wheels
Love these wheels. Been using them for years. I outdoor skate 100+ miles a week for fitness. They are smooth, fast and still grip well. When they get down to 64/65mm I retire them but they are still a good ride.

Great wheels
I think these wheels are amazing except for the fact since they are big and cut fresh it’s easy to mess up a cut 1 wheel was cut uneven it wobbles so I put it in the back but be cautious on buying these 1 may be lopsided

Route 70 wheels
I guess sure-grip took over krypotonics because these are the same great kryptos I’ve known and loved for decades. They roll over almost anything (within reason)you might encounter on a paved surface and make rough asphalt feel smoother. Skater since 1964. These are the best wheels for beginners. Rotate as needed to make them last longer.

Rides like butter!
These wheels are HUGE! Cracks, rocks, twigs etc they will eat them up. If you're in to trail riding or just getting used to skating outside these are perfect. Just watch your step with such big wheels and you'll enjoy a smooth ride.

Unstoppable
Long time street skater. Always rode Hyper Super Mundo 72x38, but those are no longer available. Searched long and hard for a replacement. Never really cared for Krypto wheels, but gave these a shot. I've got about 1000 miles on them and they are *fantastic.*. Very nice ride on coarse asphalt with cracks. The debris handling is ridiculous: pea gravel, twigs and branches, crushed stone, acorns - no problem at all. Manhole covers and cheese graters are fun. First rotation @ 800 miles, fronts lost 2mm and backs lost 1mm. I'm bilateral t-stopper who loves hills, and consider that to be very acceptable wear. Of course I wish they were available in 72mm, but the only negative I've found is that don't have great traction on wet pavement. Highly recommended. Also a big thumbs up for RSN - always fast and accurate.

Outdoor Wheels
As far as outdoor wheels are concerned, if you can tolerate the extra weight then these are gold. Probably the largest diameter wheels you will find help to roll over cracks and debris, the 78a rating prevents your feet from vibrating into numbness. They grip well from the start, I've had some other outdoor wheels that took some breaking in before they had the grip I was looking for. All in all these are my favorite outdoor wheels, especially for distance.
