The Riedell 595 boot is a low-cut model and is hand made in the USA. The tops of these Riedell speed skate boots are made from hand sorted full grain leather with a full grain Chinook leather lining. There is little padding in the boot but the dense foam tongue offers all the comfort you will need while skating.
The nylon snug tie offers a customizable fit around the heel for a better fit and maximum stability. The Riedell HF-5 heat-moldable, moisture-resistant reinforcement is featured on the outside quarter of the right boot. The stitched and cemented leather outsole makes the Riedell speed skate boots ultra-durable. The unique low-cut Riedell 595 boot is perfect for all jam, derby and speed skaters.
Sure-Grip brings you the next generation in plate design, the Avanti. This 10 degree double action plate is built to last. A sleek hollow design gives skaters performance and durability without sacrificing lightness. The Avanti Aluminum Plate includes a standard fixed pivot double action truck, both polished aluminum.
The Fugitive, Sure Grip's unique-designed speed wheel can increase your speed, jam or derby performance with a solid design! Sure Grip cold-pours their urethane for the Fugitive Wheels for maximum speed and grip. The wheels come complete with Speed Master ABEC-7 bearings for a satisfying, long lasting roll with every push.
Please note: the Riedell 595 is medium (D) width. Please see "size help" to ensure you order the best size for your feet. This boot is made in Men's sizing (the size that will appear on your boot label), but we list the Ladies equivalent so you know which size to purchase.

I haven’t skated for 15 years. Twelve fused vertebrae and then a quadruple bypass had a lot to do with it. I walk hunched over and everyone says I should get rehab, I finally said I am doing it my way. I am going to skate again. In years gone by I worked at two Roller Rinks. I skated outside on the Florida trails. I lost forty pounds after my bypass, the problem is a good portion of that was muscle. So for now I’ll be the guy with the wheeled walker on the trails trying to get back in shape. Wish me luck, I’ll be 70 years old in April.
