Amazing Skates!
I've been skating on and off for a long time but recently got really into it again thanks to my daughter. We skate 3 nights a week now and it's awesome. I had some older blades but wanted to get back into quads and wasn't ready to spend the cash on a set of Riedell 951 so I went with these and was VERY pleasantly surprised. The quality is way, way better than I expected and the skates look and feel phenomenal. I'm a "jam" skater first and foremost, and I go pretty hard in my skates. Let's just say that I had a hard time wiping the smile off my face during the entire first ride at the rink a couple of days ago. I ordered a size up and they fit PERFECTLY! Super comfortable, and surprisingly they came almost perfectly set up out of the box with only very minute adjustments needed. The wheels feel amazing too. Feels to me that VNLA skates are kind of slept on - have no idea why that is because I'm very picky and I could not be happier with my purchase. All in all, these are going to be amazing to skate in until such a time when I am ready to commit to the whole Riedell Color Lab 951 thing. A+++

one month review
I got the skates in nice packaging and everything came as said and looked. The jam plugs were a dope with a hexagon shape. They fit nice and snug with toe wiggle room. The first time I used them the right side skate felt out of alignment and was always feeling like it was pulling to the left. Still was stable enough to get me through the night at the rink. I loosened up the bushings about three quarter turn (this was the limit on the threads for loosening) to see if it might make the skate not pull so left. It did help a bit but still feels like it's always got a slight pull to the left on the right foot only. The back of the shoe that sits against your Achilles tendon felt uncomfortable at first but after the month of use there's no more chafe. The stitch on the outside bottom of the shoe has broke (right side and almost on left) the first stich. I put some shoe glue on the thread to hold it down. Should hold up. I haven't contacted rsn about an exchange for the right foot and probably wont. I just love to sk8 and will just sk8 on. Maybe they'll respond to this review? I still love to use these sk8s at the rink and outside with only outside wheels in clean dry outdoor areas. But the wheels and bearings are super sick and the bearings say speedmaster on them which is a nice touch I haven't seen on other bearings. Doing spins and grapevine, toe or heal standing\rolling all feels super good. They feel nice to always be learning new moves and improving your sk8 ability with these vnla's. It would be nice to get a right side though that didn't feel like it pulls, the stich brake, and that's why I gave the four star. Would gladly give five and take the four back if I get some contact.

Vnla total blackout
These skates are close to perfect right out of the box. I'm a men's size 11, the fit is a bit snug, but I expect this will wear in and loosen up. The wheels and bearings are surprisingly good. I swap wheels between my skates all the time. These wheels and the included bearings...great. This skate has the gorilla plate. It's a great plate. It's called out in some other reviews this plate has a fantastic action, very easy to initiate turns while still not being loose. The thing that really stands out to me is even though this plate is a bit long for me I did not lose agility. It's actually noticeably more stable than another pair of high quality low top skates I own. I'd buy this again, and easily recommend to friends.
