So I like these skates, and for an intro pair to skating they're at a great price point for the build quality -- aluminum plate (durable) and adjustable toe stops (skate can be used in many styles of skating) were two things that I knew I wanted in a skate. That said, the rider WILL need to tweak things to get a GREAT intro experience with these. Fortunately, these tweaks are cheap so I still give it 4 stars. 1) The cushions / bushings on these are rock hard garbage. Buy a new set of barrel cushions (Sure-Grips fit). My control and comfort in the skate improved drastically with parts that cost less than $20 total to replace. 2) Get supportive insoles. I have higher arches than a lot of people so your mileage may vary. 3) My feet are on the normal to narrow width end of the scale, and while they lace up fine, I can tell by how short my laces are by the end that they definitely didn't intend this boot for people with wide feet. Swapping out for some longer laces should help skaters who are on the wider side of normal, but if you have to buy your street shoes in wide this probably isn't the skate for you. 3.5). I typically wear a 7.5 in street shoes (with some room to accommodate foot swelling over the day) and sized down to a 7 -- they're a bit roomier than I think I'd like, but given that these are pleather boots I'll just wear thicker socks. There's no lacing or stretching that can make boots like these longer if they're too short. 4) Get locking washers with teeth to hold your toe stop bolts in. The type of washers included with these skates do not work in general and can cause bolts to loosen up faster. I dropped my toe stop getting off the floor, and never was able to find the washer afterwards.
I bought these as a gift to myself to replace my vnla parfait. It was too small for my d width foot. I checked the measurements and found out these are a smidge longer in insole length than the parfait. I bought an 8 and put an insole inside and they fit perfectly!! They are responsive you will feel balanced. The toe stop lock nut looks weird but it's supposed to look like that lol. Overall great skate for the price point and you feel like they are more expensive due to the design and support. My skates did have some imperfections as the right boot is wider and looks a lil scuffed and one bearing was broken upon arrival (I could see the bearing balls) I contacted customer service and they replaced the bearing at no cost to me immediately) due to them being so great I didn't complain about the scuff. You're def in the right place so if you aren't sold yet ask whatever you want until you are. Enjoy!!
I am a 7 1/2 shoe size. In an act of hubris I ordered 8's against the instructions of rollerskatenation.com. The instructions said to order a size down. I read the instructions. I didn't listen. I had to return my 8's for 7's, obviously. Let this be a warning to you all as well. Anyway. These are gorgeous, gorgeous skates. The orange pops. The wheels spin nicely. The ties are a fun ribbon. I am so excited for summer!
These skates are beautiful and I absolutely love them
Purchased these for my teenage niece. She loves them. They’re her favorite color orange and she likes how they glide on the rink.
It was my first time on skates in over 10 years and these skates were the best. So smooth and easy but they do run big so size down
These skates are amazing. High quality! Let me just say, you will not be disappointed.
I love my skates! I'm brand new to skating, and these feel sturdy while also being so freaking cute. They're a little large (I'm a 7 normally and got a 7) but honestly I think they'll be more comfortable with an insole anyway so I'm glad I have the extra room. The laces are thin and decorative, probably perfect for seasoned skaters who have great ankle control, but I'll be switching them out for sturdy shoelaces until I feel comfotable with less support. Service was great, delivery was fast. I'm thrilled :)
I'm an experienced skater and I thought these were the cutest affordable skates I have seen in a while! These boots are pretty comfortable, but I think the upper ankle is a bit stiff for my taste. I had kind of a tough time breaking these in because the boot is a bit taller than I am personally used to, but otherwise, I really really like these skates. They're very forgiving for wide, flat feet like mine and are just beautiful to look at. I got compliments the whole day on them!
