    Labeda Proline Review

Posted by Bill Kupiec on 25th Feb 2023

After reading a lot of reviews, I settled on these Proline plates as an upgrade to the stock plates on my Riedell 120 boots. The plates arrived with the incorrect axles (I ordered 8mm, but they shipped with 7mm). Roller Skate Nation very efficiently sent me replacement 8mm axles. When I opened the box, I noticed that the plates were scraped up from knocking together during shipping as the wire ties holding them in the box loosened. Also, the other aluminum parts looked unfinished (rough edges) and faded. I spent about an hour with aluminum polish to clean everything up (after which everything looked good). The package didn’t include any written material (manual, etc.) which I thought was odd. I had a local skate shop install the plates and after one time trying the new plates, I have to say that they are AMAZING. I paired the plates with Rollerbones Turbo wheels (94A) and Bones ceramic bearings. In terms of performance, I have to say that I’m completely satisfied. In terms of fit and finish, I think a better job could have been done by the manufacturer given the price point of these plates. One final note, the picture of the plate shows it with the green bushings (soft) but they actually ship with the orange bushings (medium).

I've had these since they first hit the market. I loved them from day one. Light and tuff as heck, I've never had to replace a single part.
